A majority of Noverus Innovation’s (NI) clients had on-premise file servers and wanted to make the switch to the cloud. Over the course of 9 years, NI worked with a variety of file server replacement solutions: OneDrive & Sharepoint, Soonr, Egnyte, and Google Drive.
Each of these solutions did some things well, but none of them were a complete solution that could reliably replace a file server.
One of the biggest issues NI was having with these solutions was with file syncing. Most of the solutions required a copy of each file on the client’s computer. Many clients have hundreds of gigabytes or even terabytes of storage space, so maintaining that amount of storage on each computer is not a viable solution.
Another issue was with bug fixes and communication - NI would often wait weeks, if not months, to have a specific issue resolved.
