Enable mobile file access to hosted file servers.
Enhance hosted remote desktops with a lightweight mobile server access and secure file sharing solution!
Centrestack enables Damecon's customers who are Office 365 users to store their data on hosted file servers in compliant Dutch data centers. Now we can go to any healthcare provider in the Netherlands and say 'this is all functioning according to Dutch healthcare regulations'.
Hosted file servers are typically accessed using a remote desktop connection, a virtual private network (VPN), or virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). These access methods work well enough for desktop users, but it is quite cumbersome to start because of the interactive nature. For example, a normal workflow will be clicking on some remote desktop icons and connecting to the hosted remote desktop and then using the Windows Explorer within the remote desktop to access hosted file shares.
For mobile workers, it would be nice for files and folders to follow workers on their mobile phones and laptops, so they're readily available when needed. Users, therefore, tend to turn to Dropbox and other 3rd party cloud storage services since they usually work this way. 3rd party cloud storage services are not the hosted file servers. Over time, it is hard to tell which file is where and it will be out of control quickly.
CentreStack simplifies mobile file access to hosted file shares by providing an access layer that publishes the file shares over HTTPS for easy access from an explorer-like interface that works from web browsers, mobile devices, or mapped drives on desktops. With CentreStack, there's no need to turn to third-party cloud storage services to simplify mobile access and secure file sharing because the corporate file servers are becoming private file sharing servers for mobile access over HTTPS.
CentreStack adds secure remote access and mobile file sharing, disaster prevention and recovery, to file servers on-premises with easy cloud migration. It is the real cloud file server solution you have been looking for!
CentreStack bridges file servers and cloud storage for secure remote access without the need for a VPN.
Accessing files and folders directly from within a web browser as if it was as interactive as from a desktop drive.
CentreStack adds cloud capabilities for secure mobile file sharing from a web browser or a mobile application.
CentreStack sets up a hybrid deployment between local file servers and cloud storage that seamlessly turns into mobile file servers.
Users enter existing Active Directory (AD) user names and passwords on any supported client.
Credentials are passed securely over HTTPS to the CentreStack server.
The external firewall only needs to open port 443 for HTTPS traffic.
CentreStack finds the user's tenant and passes the credentials to the corresponding AD domain controller.
CentreStack uses the authentication token from the domain controller to access internal file shares.
Data stays on hosted file servers. Existing permissions govern remote access. Data privacy is further maintained through isolated management of users and access rights in each tenant.
Use existing AD users and NTFS folder permissions with a simple interface to identify remotely accessible file shares that automatically appear in the user's mapped drives.
CentreStack allows admins to run HIPAA or GDPR compliance checks and generate reports demonstrating compliance for file access and collaboration.
Files are cached locally, so access feels instant without the tedious setup of remote desktops or VPN file sharing. Users get the benefit of local performance while working remotely.
Legacy applications may continue to use the hosted file shares, which remain unchanged as CentreStack provides remote access to the same file shares from any device.
Minimize user training with a mapped drive that works the same on-premises or remotely. Provide a seamless local experience for users even when they are offline.
CentreStack integrates with Office 365 for web-based co-editing and co-authoring for files inside the shared folder.
Use Outlook integration to share large folders or files as web links via email.
Convert shared files and shared folders into web links for direct access over web browsers.
Access shared files and shared folders from mobile devices such as from iPhone or Android phones.
Define different permissions for folders at different levels of the directory structure or inherit from NTFS permissions directly.
Web-based secure data room allows view-only access to shared folders with download disabled.
From internal Active Directory users to external clients and partners, you can define user rights for folder sharing.
Shared folders are put under version control, and notifications are available for users subscribed to the folders.
